Pregnancy Massage
I have had specific training and courses in Pregnancy Massage and worked with many pregnant women and have had the pleasure of helping them prepare their bodies to welcome in a new life. My techniques are always safe and my clients find my sessions are remarkably relaxing.
Prenatal massage offers a wide range of benefits including the following: Eases backaches, headaches, shoulder and neck aches that may be caused by muscle tension and shifts in posture to accommodate increasing weight; Decreases pain in the pelvic/hip area; Increases circulation; Improves digestion; Reduces fatigue; Improves skin elasticity and can help reduce stretch marks and edema.
In the best interests and well being of my clients, I discourage pregnant women from seeking out massage during their first trimester when miscarriage is more probable. All expectant mothers should check with their doctors prior to getting a massage and it is very important to share updated information about your condition with your massage therapist when you arrive for your appointment. Massage is not indicated when conditions such as pre enclampsia are present.
